Pharmacy Technician
Duties and Responsibilities:
Pharmacists compound, or prepare, prescriptions written by
physicians, dentists, and other practitioners. They review these prescriptions
to validate their accuracy and then prepare the medication. This can involve
weighing, measuring, and mixing drugs. Once the compounds are prepared,
pharmacist then dispense them to customers and patients.
Pharmacists answer patient’s and consumer’s questions about the drugs
that they are using. In some cases, pharmacists are responsible for taking
inventory of the drugs on the shelves and ordering any which are below.
Pharmacists work in all hospitals, clinics, health departments’,
universities, and grocery drug, along with discount stores.
Salary:
$33,000 - $51,000
Education:
Students should take the most challenging high school classes
(including AP or IB) available in English, science, and math.
All students’ that are pharmacists must graduate from a college
pharmacy. And most pharmacy schools require to take the (P – CAT) test, some
even require up to two years of pre-pharmacy education.
Reflection:
This career seems to me very difficult although great for the years
of education apply only five while becoming a doctor will take you to seven or
eight year of education.
