Abraham’s
Act of Integrity
Summary:
Lincoln went down for a walk with a good friend
of his Colonel. Later then Colonel asked Lincoln if he wanted a bit of whiskey
to drink with him during the walk. Lincoln however said no. Later then that
same day Colonel asked Lincoln if he had already refused to drink that perhaps he
could have then smoked with him but, Lincoln instead told him the story about
how when he was just a boy he had promise his mother . Not to smoke tobacco or
drink whiskey just when his mother was in the last few days of life. He says
that since then he had never broke the promise or planned on.
Reflection:
When there ever comes a time where someone
offers tobacco or alcohol for that matter, simply say no it’s understandable
for a few people however, don’t drink or smoke unless of course you really want
or have to. There is no excuse not even peer- pressure.
