The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

 Habit 1: Be Proactive

" Habit 1 is the key to unlocking all there other habits and that's why it comes first. It says,"I am the captain of my life. I can choose my attitude. I'm responsible for my own happiness and unhappiness. I am in the driver's seat of my destiny, not just a passenger."

Habit 2: Begin with the end in mind

"Control your own destiny or someone else will." (Jack Welch)

Control your own destiny right now to help yourself later in the future. For what you do now can effect you immensely in the long run. Don't hesitate to stop and wonder, you'll only procrastinate and make no progress. So make a change in your life, choose to do the right things. For example, keep up with your assignments, paperwork, bills, payments, or be there on time and turn things in on time. Don't choose to do wrong by getting involved with drugs, alcohol, or by being mean and becoming lazy. That will only effect you to go down the wrong way. However, your life depends on you because you can only move your self and think weather to do good or bad. So make the right choice by becoming independent and doing whats better for you. This will only make you more successful in the future if you decide to look out for your actions.

This new habit i will look out more to do great things in my life. I will not become lazy and procrastinate. I will make good choices and turn things in on time. Listen to my teacher's, parents, follow the rules and do what's best for me.

Habit 3: Put first things first

"Organize and execute around priorities."

To be successful in what you do as well as to accomplish things we must plan them. Write them in your agenda or in a calendar to be organize. It will be a great help for you because it'll remind you and inform you when things are due. Or when special events are coming along. So always note down your priorities for the day or any other day. Also remind yourself to put important things first. For example, you always want to accomplish something thats in need to be done. Therefore do that first and then occupy yourself with the rest of your priorities. Don't sit around and watch time pass. Nor, procrastinate, and my excuses. They will do you no good in life i guarantee it.

This new habit i will be apply by keeping myself and my agenda updated to what i have to do throughout the day. I will also buy posits, binders, and myself the remind app to inform my self what i must complete throughout that day. I will also use my agenda to add things i need to accomplish.

Habit 4: Think Win-Win

"Think win-win or no deal."

It's important to always think positive about the things you do. To have a great feeling about those you do and think proudly about the affects they have. For example, if you have a soccer game tournament think to yourself that you must do whatever it takes to win because to win is an incredible feeling. Therefore, you practice weeks and weeks before the final day arrives to play soccer. So you think to yourself when your out on the field, we need to win this game i need to win this game because you thoughts are what motivate you and empower you to do great. So always have that positive mind folks if you want to make the best of something you have to give it your all. Afterall it does need to take dedication and commitment so start making a change for yourself today by thinking that you can win.

I will try this new method by doing great things and trying to accomplish them. Also by thinking i can do it, i can win and do great. All it takes is commitment, and determination. All i have to do is set my mind to it and focus for the big win.

Habit 5: Seek First to Understand then to be Understood

"Diagnose before you prescribe."

In order to understand something you must seek for help. You must also pay attention and listen to later to comprehend what to do. This will decrease the chances of you not understanding; and lead you to avoid questioning. However, it is important to ask for help if you don't  seem to be getting a clear understanding of what to do. For example, if a student whose in class doesn't know what he or she is doing then it's important for them to ask for help. They can ask for help to a teacher, classmate, or teacher's assistance for guidance as to how to do the work. Only then will they understand because they've seeked out for help. Another example, may be that a new employer doesn't know what to do therefore, he or she asks the manager or other employers how to do the task to complete it. So listen to what other have ti say before you speak over them and not get a clear understanding of what they've said.

I will try to apply Habit number five by listening more and talking less. As well as by seeking for help to those who can help me. Only then will i only get a clear understanding of what i need to do through-out the day.

Habit 6: Synergize

"The whole is greater than the sum of it's parts (1+1=3)

You have to be a team player to synergize. The key to this is to be cooperative, do your work, help yourself and your team-mates together. Help solve odd problems by thinking together on how to find the solution to fix it. Be helpful and expand your ideas; be open minded and try to solve the puzzle together. After all it is a process between all. Do whatever you can that's in your power to find the solution. For example, student's in my school and i have a project to turn in sometime soon. Therefore, we all came together as a team to help each other. We managed to communicate, cooperate our ideas and thoughts, and teach one another a thing or two. Another example, my be if your in the mathletes league and you and your'e team try finding the solution together by problem solving. Perhaps telling one another how to solve a certain equation and so on. Or reminding them step by step the process in doing so.

I will apply this new habit by allowing myself to help other's and allowing them to help me. This is the only way possible i know that i'll be able to figure out my solution with the help of other's.

Habit 7: Sharpen the saw

Four Dimensions of Self-Renewal: Physical, Mental, Spiritual, Social/Emotional

People should consider self-renewal, and self-care. It's what makes there health, mentality , and emotions increase to a happier state of being. For example, for your physical health you should challenge your body to be more active, eat right, laugh more and do more. Another a example of mental health would be to learn something new perhaps a new language or play brainless games. Further more, to improve yourself spiritually say some prayers, go to church or let out your expressions in a journal. Lastly, to improve on yourself socially and emotionally share your feelings with another person, plan social activities, show people you care about them. Give a hug to someone  or telling them directly how you feel about them.

I will apply habit number seven by exercising more, doing community service by volunteering, valuing other people whom i care for, and visualizing my future along with planning it along the way. Also by making time for me to relax and or meditate.

Reflection:
In opinion, i strongly agree with the seven habits. They are truly motivating and inspirational. I have tried many of the them and have received great outcomes. Moreover, they have inspired me to do greater things, and work together with other's. They have also helped me physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually develop. Therefore, is safe to say that the seven habits are highly effective to people. They will not only change your perspective but your aspect as well to do better. So i encourage my friends and other's as well to be apart of the seven highly effective habits. It will teach you the proper ways of living and encourage you to apply more of them to your daily routine.

The fundamental techniques in handling people

Three Fundamental Techniques in Handling People

Technique 1: Don't criticize, condemn or complain

"If you want to gather honey, don't kick over the beehive

Dale Carnegie

To not criticize , condemn or complain are three important techniques that Dale Carnegie shows us to follow. These techniques will allow us to become someone better than what we already are. Or they can also teach one of us a lesson or two about the benefits and positive outcomes that can come about following through these techniques. Like for example, we must all learn to behave and not criticize at any moment. It is not polite or correct  to do so. Therefore I encourage myself and others to keep our thoughts within ourselves . We must also not condemn or complain for how we feel about others. This will only bring attention and make the situation more difficult for you by causing drama in front of a crowd. So without further or do I suggest everyone to follow through Dale Carnegie's techniques if they wish to make a better change of themselves .

I will try these three techniques within the following days . First by keeping my opinions and thoughts to myself. Another is by not complaining or condemning in front of anyone for something that is not worth to complain. By then hopefully people and myself will see the positive change that has affected me after following these techniques. I know they will only make me a better person and perhaps another that followed through them .

Technique 2: Give honest and sincere appreciation

"The big secret in dealing with people"

Being honest to people about the things you appreciate most in life can really benefit you because people will take into consideration what you like and are interested in. Sometimes maybe even a person can give you work to do because they know how much you'll appreciate it and not take it for granted. For example, if a teacher or a staff member see your expression of gratitude they'll most likely talk more about you and grow trust with you. This will mean more people will get to know on the ways on how you, which will shortly build you a great reputation.  Therefore, always keep in mind to carry on a great expression it says a lot. Also be honest because anyone whose a liar will get no where in life. All they will have is a problem after another. Besides telling the truth is what people like most and i can almost guarantee that they'll always appreciate your modest honesty. So be honest and show people you sincere appreciation that's the big secret that will surely get you going on the right path.

This technique i know i will forever use because being sincere builds connections, communication and trust. It allows a person to be confident and trust you. This can benefit you both in two ways; in your work and reputation. So to not only make myself look good but to also be good i will be honest and show 100% sincere appreciation and honesty in everything i do.

Technique 3: Arouse in the other person an eager want.

"He who can do this has the whole world with him. He who cannot, walks a lonely way."

Reflection:

Everyone has an eager want. It's just the matter of how eager we are to achieve it. For example, the president's who are up for the elections have to prove to the people how eager they are for their position. An what they will do to achieve it. Another example, will be having something written down on your agenda and you having to complete it. However imagine yourself completing the task with someone watching you. Looking to see how eager you are to complete it or achieve it.Also encourage people to achieve their goals. Influence them to do something with themselves. Self motivate them and yourself. Do what you can to help other and yourself achieve the highway to success.

This technique i will use by helping other's achieve their goals. As well as by helping myself with my achievements. Try to show the people how much you care about accomplishing something you most desire and want. Don't let any body drag you down from this achievement because its your dream not there's. So live it!

Final Reflection:

Overall learning from the three Fundamental Techniques i believe they have helped me in my daily life. They have teached me the ways on how improve on myself and how to pass it on to others. They have teached how to learn to appreciate, not judge or condemn, as well as to self motivate someone and myself to achieve what they most eagerly want. Therefore, im glad to say that i recommend to a person to follow by Dale Carnegie's three fundamental techniques. It'll surely change their life, behavior, and personality as well as overall life experience. It empowered me emensly i hope it'll empower you. So make a change with yourself(you are starting the new year) it's never to late to accomplish a great attitude or desire. You'll not only be helping yourself but perhaps others as well.

School Break Days

                                                                School Break Days

During this Christmas and school break i was very joyful and grateful because of the holiday season. Some of the things i did is go to big bear to snow board. I also went hiking to Griffith Park and to the observatory that was there. Some other things i did was go Christmas shopping and do sleepovers at my sister's or cousin's house. Although something special i did with my family for a week is pray everyday from the bible and give thanks and forgiveness. This we call "posadas" in our Latin culture, what we usually do here is celebrate the days before Jesus Christ awoke from his bed. This we do by having a get together in one of our family members house and then after our prayer we eat. We also dance and sing joyful Christmas songs as well as some of gods songs. Lastly some other things i did over the winter break is watch Netflix and relax. Hangout with some friends of mines and go watch a movie. Visit my sister at her dorm in UCLA. Furthermore, do some research over a topic i was given to do for my Interdisciplinary Project.
